Calverton-Deer Park Area

I first visited Cross Creek Club in 1998 when the first models opened. In a close-in area where many builders had previously passed over for larger parcels, any large development, let alone a golf course community, seemed out of place. This is not your typical elitist golf course like Hampshire Greens, but instead a neighborhood for people who would rather play golf than watch others.

Cross Creek Club, or CCC for short, is a golf course community straddling the border between Montgomery and Prince George's Counties. With over five hundred homes to date, this community was built by Ryan Homes and NVHomes beginning in 1998 and is halfway to completion. A smaller local builder, Greentree Homes, is finishing a smaller off-shoot of single family homes in the community on Alpenhorn Way, off of Briggs Chaney Road. Because of its location, prices in the development have been quite reasonable even after the recent jump in home values.

Even in its youth Cross Creek Club has the air of a more established community. Elegant brick-fronted houses with two-car garages sit on sizable lots (1/3-1/5 acre) on wide, curving streets with sidewalks in some places. Most lots back to mature trees while some back to the golf course. Community features include a Homeowners' Association and a Community Clubhouse along with a gatehouse at the main entrance. CCC is located near Interstate 95 and the Beltway, putting you less than twenty minutes from Washington and Columbia and less than forty minutes from Baltimore and Northern Virginia.

Home styles in Cross Creek Club include some twenty single-family models and two townhouse models offered by Ryan and NV Homes, along with five single-family models by Greentree. Home sizes range from 1,900 to 3,500 square feet, with townhomes at least 1,200 square feet. Prices for a new home begin in the low $400s to low $500s, depending on the builder. Resale homes range from the high $200s for a townhome and into the high $400s and low $500s for some of the larger single family homes.
