Fairland Road & Marlow Farm Terrace, Silver Spring, Maryland
Calverton-Deer Park Area
Marlow Farm is the most recent addition to the Calverton-Deer Park area. This infill project is presently still under construction, however most of the thirty-seven homes are already occupied. Even at its infancy Marlow Farm has a lot to offer with its stately brick residences made complete with elegant details, large windows and neatly sodded yards. Although the traditional designs of these homes make them easy to find almost anywhere, there certainly must be something special about Marlow Farm to draw people to it.
Marlow Farm was built by M/I Homes and offers eight single-family models ranging from the 2,294 square foot Sinclair to the 4,000 square foot Potomac. Inside, each of the models feature large, spacious floorplans, high ceilings in many rooms and gourmet kitchens - all standard. Most of the homes, particularly those on Marlow Farm Terrace and Marlow Farm Court, have beautiful views of a the treed embankment which the neighborhood backs to. When the project opened in April 2001, prices began from the $270's, however when it finally closed in October 2002, they had risen to the $410's with the model house finally selling for over $600,000.
This community is home to many families with teenagers and several childless couples, which is typical of a move-up development. As is common with communities in this style, the residents are somewhat introverted and there is little, if any interaction with neighbors. However, as the neighborhood matures it is likely that this will change. As the newest neighbor on the block, Marlow Farm is sure to become the best.
